Art Class at The Royal Academy of Fine Arts
Do you love making art? Apart from art lessons at school, talented pupils can also participate in an extra-curricular programme. This is called the Art Class and it is held at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in The Hague.
On Wednesday afternoons, Art Class pupils travel by coach from school to the Academy. Art Class students follow a variety of visual arts modules such as Graphic Design, Photography, Interactive Media Design and Ceramics to name just a few. These lessons are given in blocks of five to six weeks and are taught by Academy teachers. A teacher from school is also always present to accompany the pupils to and from the lessons and to coordinate the programme.
If you would like to participate in the Introduction Afternoon on Wednesday 31st May 2023, please sign up before Wednesday 24th May 2023 by contacting Mrs. Royle: k.royle@rijnlandslyceum-rlw.nl
After the Introduction Afternoon, you can sign up for an interview which will be held on the afternoon of Wednesday, 7th June 2023 at RLW. Mrs Royle and a teacher from the Art Academy will look at your own artworks and discuss with you why you would like to participate. Please do show all your recent work; from drawings to photography and from little films and animations to three-dimensional works and anything else you may have made. The more the better! We like to see that you are willing to experiment and try out ideas and use different materials and techniques.
We hope the short little film gives you an impression of this programme.
