The International School Wassenaar (ISW) delivers the International Baccalaureate (IB) Middle Years Programme and the IB Diploma Programme. ISW is part of the Rijnlands Lyceum Wassenaar (RLW). Established in 1936, RLW prepares students for university and higher vocational education. RLW is one of the founding bilingual education schools in The Netherlands.
Nestled in a picturesque setting in the heart of leafy Wassenaar, within touching distance of The Hague and Leiden, ISW delivers a first-class secondary education through high standards and excellence in teaching. Our school is small enough to ensure that each child is well-known and appreciated for who they are in a warm, safe and supportive environment. Our size allows us to get to know each child’s unique background and personality, including their individual goals.
Rijnlands Lyceum has grown into a foundation of eight schools in The Netherlands and is affiliated with five schools abroad. Together with our sister schools we offer a unique blend of Dutch, bilingual (Dutch/English) and international primary and secondary education to approximately 7000 students.

Our Beautiful Building
In 2025 a new wing was opened so as to accomodate the addition of the International School to Rijnlands Lyceum, Wassenaar. It was an exciting moment and marked the culmination of years of dreaming and planning.
